The art of happy mail During high school, my boyfriend left for the summer to participate in Drum Corps International. Being young and in love, we exchanged letters weekly, which I treasured and stored in a box hidden in my closet. I loved being able to see his personality just through his handwriting. Birthdays and holidays always involved opening cards eagerly to check for money, while letters from pen pals often came with scratch-and-sniff stickers or occasionally a troll
